Emotions can greatly impact an employee's productivity. That is why a happy, satisfied and secure person works much better than someone who feels worried, insecure and stressed. Negative emotions like fear, anxiety, frustration and stress narrow hamper your cognitive abilities, hinder one's focus and affects one's concentration. But positive emotions do just the opposite and help improve concentration, focus and intellectual abilities.

Encouraging a positive environment in the office is bound to ensure productivity boost. Needless to say, a happy and satisfied person works better than an insecure person who feels scared and stressed.

How positive encouragement helps

Positive reinforcement is a simple technique that immediately changes the behavior of the person concerned. Human brain works in a positive way when it sees acceptance and a positive environment around it. Moreover, an employee's productivity gets a boost when he/she feels happy and upbeat. The employee is more likely to perform better in tasks that require brainstorming and will come up with new ideas for improvement. An employee who receives positive encouragement does not fear to take initiatives that will improve his/her contribution and productivity.

Criticism mounts when a team leader or employer sees undesired behavior and want to correct the same, but doesn't know how to resolve it. In such a situation, harsh criticism won't get the desired result as the leader does not have a specific solution that can resolve the issue.

Criticism often leads to negative emotions. Whenever there is anger, frustration, fear, anxiety and stress, employees are less likely to focus on work and their intellectual abilities decrease. Negative emotions will take over and the person will struggle to think clearly, won't be able to co-ordinate well with others and won't feel enthusiastic about new ideas and projects. Negative emotions can affect his daily routine, reducing productivity in the process.

How you communicate matters a lot
How things are communicated to an employee would matter most in terms of impact. In fact, the tone of the message could have more impact than the actual message itself. When negative feedback is shared with a warm tone, the employee takes it as positive interaction. On the other hand, some good news or feedback shared with a negative tone could upset the employee. Therefore, to perform well at work, it is important to be upbeat and happy.

Make these important changes in your behavior to perform better at work:

1. Listen and show empathy
Make your colleagues feel comfortable by your understanding and listening abilities. You should try and nurture a supportive and problem-solving attitude towards your team.

2. Be a caring colleague
Listen to your colleagues carefully and keep a tab on what they are feeling. A negative person will spread negativity among others. Therefore, to control negative emotions prevailing in the team, simply listen to your team-mates and help them offload their tension and frustration.

3. Have healthy interpersonal relations
Try to improve your relations with your team-members, especially if you are in a big team where you may not be able to interact with all your colleagues on a daily basis. Also, encourage each member of your team to have healthy relations with each other that will ensure a positive work environment.

iOS 7.1 didn't bring a ton of new features the table , but the few tweaks and improvements it did add make iOS a lot more useable. Unfortunately, iOS 7.1 isn't jailbroken, but if you want to keep your jailbreak and still get the new features, you just need to track down a few tweaks.

Get the New Calendar

The Calendar in iOS 7.1 got a few handy little improvements, including a better list view that makes it easier to read your upcoming plans and new holidays. It doesn't sound like much, but it really does make the iOS 7 calendar easier to use. Thankfully, jailbreakers can get the new calendar with Gregorian. You'll find it by searching for Gregorian in Cydia in Ryan Petrich's repository. You'll need to add that repository manually. Just head into Cydia, tap Manage > Sources, then Edit and add: http://rpetri.ch/repo/

Speed Up Animations

Animations are a lot faster in iOS 7.1, which makes it so opening and closing apps, navigating between pages, and moving between folders a lot less nausea inducing than on iOS 7. Thankfully, you don't have to upgrade to get the improved speed. Speed Intensifier is a free tweak that allows you to set the speed of animations to your liking.

Tone Down the White

iOS 7.1 added a handy feature to tone down the whiteness so your phone doesn't blind you at night. While this isn't directly possible with a jailbroken phone, you can use F.lux to get a similar effect. Basically, once F.lux is installed, you can play around with different settings to change the color temperature. With a little tweaking you can get a similar effect to the one available in iOS 7.1.

Disable Parallax

You can disable the parallax effect in iOS 7 pretty easily , but you lose the nifty animations when you do it. iOS 7.1 added a special configuration just for parallax, but you can easily get it on your jailbroken device too. Just download HiddenSettings7 and Parallax enaBlur. Once both are downloaded, you'll get an option to disable parallax on your home screen or your lock screen, just like in iOS 7.1.

By default windroy is set to full screen mode, but you can change it’s size by set an environment variable WINDROY_RESOLUTION=widthxheight.For example, WINDROY_RESOLUTION=800×600.

   Lessen the time a student has to travel to and from school. This precious time should be used for play, homework, and study. It should be no more than 15 minutes of travel.

Defining success involves measurable attributes according to a specific, obtainable goal, ideal or priority. Success is defined according to various degrees or levels; "perfect" success is considered unobtainable in the human realm of action. To help you define what success means, start with Step 1 below.

   Define specifically (not generally) the goal, ideal or priority that you want to achieve. For example, it is better to declare: "I want a successful marriage in which the husband and wife remain intimate friends, passionate, and who are of the same value system and whose children inherit the same set of values and passion for life" rather than generally declaring "I want to have a successful marriage that is a happy one".

   To measure your definition of success, set certain limits (time, degree of achievement, personal impact, etc). For example, for a "successful marriage" you might furthermore declare: "I want my marriage to be permanent, at least as happy and peaceful as that of my parents' spousal relationship, and be a source of joy for my children and others."

   To refine your definition of success, it is necessary to itemize the various specific tasks and steps to follow to achieve the goal, ideal or priority. For example, to have a successful marriage we need to break down the various necessary relational duties and exercises. Here are just a few examples:
   • remain committed daily

   • pray together, especially in times of personal grief and trouble
   • set specific times to socialize as a couple and with children (as opposed to making it a random event)
   • remain open and generous regarding shared finances

The best method is to keep a journal and reflect on the status of your goals, ideals, and priorities. You can then adjust them after speaking objectively with a friend or adviser.

Wood texture can be used in many ways in graphics. But say you wanted some digital wood texture. This article will tell you the way it is done.

Part 1 of 3: Creating the Base Texture

   Start Photoshop with a 500 X 500 square. (It can be any size really.)

   Go to Filter >> Noise >> Add Noise.

   Select Gaussian Blue and Monochromatic and set the number to about 10. The Monochromatic helps strengthen the effect.

   Check to make sure that you have the brown as the foreground and the white as the background.

   Go to Filter >> Render >> Clouds.

   Go to Edit >> Fade Clouds. Change the opacity to 25%.

   For an extra depth of realism, you can go to Filter >> Blur >> Motion Blur with a blur of around 12 pixels.

   Go to Filter >> Distort >> Wave. A good starting point for your texture is:
   • Number of Generators: ~ 514
   • Wavelength: 10 / 402

   • Type: Sine
   • Undefined Areas: Wrap Around

   Select Randomize. Although the image is small, if you don't like the appearance of it, click on Randomize.

Part 3 of 3: Making Mahogany Wood Grain

   Go to Filter >> Liquify.

   Make your brush around 100 or so. Use the following effects to change the look.
   • Forward Warp

   • Bloat

   Move things around until you like the way it looks.
